SILK DUPIONI COLLECTION
Made out of a natural, protein fiber, Silk is considered- by many- to be the creme de la creme of all fabric materials. Among its many features, it is revered for its ability to maintain heat in cool weather and coolness in hotter temperatures. Silk, in all its forms, is ever-present in the world of fashion, dressmaking, home décor, and for any design project seeking to epitomize high style and luxury.
Fabrics in Fashion's SILK DUPIONI COLLECTION is hand-woven with differing colors of threads scattered through the warp and weft (the fine thread in the warp and uneven thread in the weft). This "dupioni" technique gives the silk a tightly-woven, iridescent, highly-lustrous, and eye-catching surface and texture. Hand-woven dupioni is heavier and thicker than its counterpart, silk shantung, and has a greater slub count. It is crisp to the touch, resists wrinkling, and has a full, solid drape.
Perfect for the production of evening gowns, bridal attire, scarves, cushions, pillows, light-use furniture, and drapery. Fabrics in Fashion has been specializing in silks for over 20 years. We are happy to answer any questions about Silk Dupioni use and design. Click on the photos below to enlarge them and to get a better idea of the texture and look of the fabric.
